NaruHina: Proposal
Hinata took Naruto’s small gift opening it slowly. She looked down into the simple box astounded at what she saw. “But Naruto, this is-” “I know.” Naruto interrupted Hinata and got down on one knee. “Hinata, will you marry me?” A much more mature Naruto asked a much older, but still flustered, Hinata. The Hyuga party fell speechless along with the pearl eyed kunoichi whose surprised eyes traveled from the engagement ring she held to Naruto’s face and back again to the ring. Before she could respond, a chair loudly clattered to the floor taking the attention of the formerly silent room that began to buzz with speculation on what would happen next.
The man who had stood up was Hiashi Hyuga, Hinata’s father, a look of pure hatred on his face. Naruto quickly stood up pulling Hinata behind him as Hiashi quickly walked across the room towards him. “What did you say just now?” Hiashi spoke quietly, trying to retain the eloquence of the party surroundings. “I-” “Did you just ask the Hyuga heiress to marry you, of all people, without asking the current head?!” Hiashi interrupted Naruto pulling him up by his shirt collar until he couldn’t touch the ground even with the tips of his feet. “No.” Hiashi became even more enraged at Naruto’s apparent denial of what he just did. “I did not ask the Hyuga heiress to marry me, I asked Hinata, the love of my life to marry me.” Hiashi gritted his teeth together and turned around, violently throwing Naruto across the room into a table.
“How dare you!” Hiashi walked over to Naruto who was lying on the ground between two halves of a snapped table. Naruto stared up defiantly at Hiashi. “I only allowed you to attend Hinata’s birthday party because she asked me to, but for you to do this is inconceivable!” Naruto stood up trying to dust of his dirty suit. “You want to know what’s inconceivable? That you would interrupt something like this, a proposal of all things.” Hiashi raised his palm as the veins next to his eyes bulged out. “You have no right!” Hiashi threw his palm into Naruto’s stomach only for him to disappear in a cloud of smoke. “A shadow clone?!” Hiashi turned around to see Hinata had disappeared along with Naruto. He grew angrier as the veins next to his eyes bulged even more. ‘They couldn’t have gotten far.’ Hiashi gasped at what he saw. “Damn that kid!” The guests at the party winced back at the head’s anger. Hiashi’s vision traveled between four pairs of what looked like Naruto carrying Hinata away from the party in completely opposite directions. “Damn that kid, he used shadow clones and transformation to confuse me!” Hiashi ran outside before randomly picking a pair of clones to follow.
“Naruto…” Hinata spoke quietly, eyeing the ring she carried in the modest box. Naruto looked down at Hinata’s face, deep in thought, but still the most gorgeous thing he had ever seen. Naruto set her down next to a tree and watched as she gently ran her finger over the modest gem. “I know it’s not much of a ring and I know it was kinda’ sudden so if you need ti-” Hinata latched onto Naruto pulling him close in an embrace. “Naruto, I would love to marry you.” Naruto pulled away slightly looking deep into the large pale eyes he had fallen in love with. Naruto pulled her into a kiss running his hand gently through her long hair, something he had done many times before, but it was true what he said. Naruto may have moved too fast in proposing. No one in the village other than Shikamaru, the intelligent bastard, had figured out they were even seeing each other. Further proof of their short relationship was shown when Naruto tried to do something under the shade of that pine tree he had never done before.
Naruto lightly traced Hinata’s lips with his tongue causing Hinata to gasp in surprise from the new feeling. Her lips opened ever so slightly when she inhaled and Naruto slowed ran his tongue into her mouth. The opening was so small and hesitant that Naruto’s tongue rubbed against both of Hinata’s lips. Hinata savored the friction between her lips and her love’s tongue something she had dreamed of for many months, but until now was just that, a dream, and even now it wasn’t perfect.
Hinata regretfully pulled away, her eyes beginning to well up with tears. “Hinata, what’s wrong?” Naruto reached up to Hinata’s face wiping the crystalline stream off her cheek. “My father hates you Naruto. I don’t think he’ll ever give his blessings for our marriage.” Hinata’s words trailed of as she began to succumb to the tears, burying her face in Naruto’s dirty suit. “I know. He’s normal when it comes to what he thinks of me.” Hinata looked up at Naruto confused. “Hinata, tell me, have you ever heard of the Kyuubi?” Hinata nodded slightly as she wiped a dirt smeared tear from her eye. “That was the nine tailed demon fox that attacked the village twenty years ago, right?” Naruto nodded. “Do you know what the date was that the Leaf Village was attacked by that…demon?” Naruto struggled when he forced himself to say the word ‘demon’. “It was the tenth day of October.” Naruto nodded slowly. “Now Hinata, can you tell me when my birthday is?” Hinata gasped silently to herself. “October tenth.” Naruto completely released Hinata and took a step back allowing her to look at him. “Hinata, I’m sorry.”
NaruHina: Forever
Hinata stared at the only person she had loved her entire life. Naruto had finally proposed to her today, something she had not expected as it was her birthday and the couple had still not told anyone that they were even seeing each other. She still said yes, but now she faced that same person and saw two different things. Through her physical eyes she saw Naruto, the most handsome and fun-loving person that she had fallen in love with, and through her mind’s eye she saw an image of the Kyuubi imposed behind him. “no, Naruto…it’s not true…” Naruto shielded his pure blue eyes from her with his eyelids. “Hinata, I’m sorry, I should’ve told you sooner.”
Hinata heard the words and watched as he disappeared, but the whole experience was surreal. It felt like a dream…no, the whole experience was more akin to a terrible nightmare. Rain began to fall, lightly at first, but slowly becoming more intense. A raindrop managed to weave its way down through the branches of the pine tree she stood under, alone, and landed on her nose, awakening her from her trance. She felt a heavy hand on her shoulder and turned to see her father, Hiashi looking down at her. Hiashi’s eyes widened when he saw the tears in her eyes. “What is it? Did that monster do anything to you?!” He grabbed onto Hinata’s shoulders. Hinata shook her head and continued crying, thinking of what her father had just said. ‘Is that what everyone thinks of Naruto? ‘Monster’?’
Hinata went home with her father who refused to deactivate his Byakugan, insisting that Naruto would come back, but the two made it back peacefully. Hinata went to her room falling down onto her bed, too stunned to even get out of her wet clothes. She lay awake in her bed for hours going over what Naruto had told her and what had happened. The proposal, her father’s rage, and Naruto…he was the demon fox. Hours later when her clothes had dried against her skin she heard a tap on her window that snapped her from her long thought. She rushed over to it as quietly as she could and slid it open to see Naruto whose eyes widened as he couldn’t stop the next pebble he threw up at her window. The pebble luckily missed and instead sailed across the room hitting the door to Hinata’s room. Naruto looked up to Hinata, his serious face not suiting his playful nature.
Hinata tried to speak to Naruto, but not wanting to wake the other Hyugas she spoke in a whisper, something that’s impossible to hear from the ground if it’s coming from the second story. Hinata watched in amusement a small smile flickering across her face when Naruto strained hard to hear her even after she had given up on whispering down at him. Naruto shrugged indicating he couldn’t hear anything and Hinata motioned for him to come up to her room. Naruto looked left and right before making a seal and disappearing in a puff of smoke. “A shadow clone?” Hinata looked behind her at the pebble Naruto had thrown. She silently walked over to the pebble that was lying next to her door and squatted down next to it. She poked it and knew she was right when she heard a familiar giggle come from the pebble.
The pebble transformed into Naruto who was rubbing his side. “Hinata, that’s not fair, you know I’m ticklish.” Naruto’s laugh was short lived when he saw Hinata’s face and remembered why he was there. “Hinata, I’m sorry for not telling you sooner. I should’ve told you before I asked you something like that!” Hinata covered Naruto’s mouth when he forgot that they weren’t truly alone. The two heard footsteps coming up the stairs. “Naruto, I need to tell you.” Hinata pulled her hand away from Naruto’s mouth. “Naruto, I-”
No sooner had she begun speaking than there was a knock on her door. “Hinata, are you alright?” The voice was Hiashi’s, the one Naruto had just been praying it wouldn’t be. The door knob turned and the door opened quickly, hitting Naruto in the head, and knocking him forward. “WHAT?!” Naruto opened his eyes to see he was on all fours on top of Hinata and quickly looked up to her father who stood in the entryway. “YOU AGAIN?!?!” Hiashi ran over and kicked Naruto in the chest sending him off of Hinata and sailing through her window. “Naruto!” Hinata quickly stood up and ran over to the window raising a foot onto the windowsill prepared to go after him. Just as she was about to leap out Hiashi grabbed her wrist stopping her. “Father let go!” Hiashi only tightened his grip. “But he tried to-” Hinata didn’t give him the time to finish. She reversed his grab and when Hiashi tried to grab her with his other hand she grabbed that one as well and flipped onto his back.
Hinata stood on Hiashi’s back holding herself in place by hanging onto both of her father’s arms she had yanked behind his back with one hand. From the other hand a chakra lance shot, giving her father a shallow cut on the cheek. “Father, I love Naruto, and I will forever. I’m going to marry him, unless you want to stop me, but to do that you’d have to kill me!” Hiashi’s eyes widened at his daughter’s words. He collapsed onto his knees from shock and Hinata released him jumping off her father’s back and through the window after Naruto.
NaruHina: Runaway
“Naruto!” Hinata yelled into the darkness of the forest, but she knew she couldn’t catch up to Naruto; he had always been much faster than she was. She finally gave up when she ran out of breath and leaned up against a tree. “Naruto, please…” Her voice trailed off as she slumped down onto her knees. “Naruto…I love you.” Tears began to flow down the sides of her cheeks. “I want to be with you…”
“How?” Hinata turned around and saw a very depressed Naruto sitting up against a tree right behind her. “I don’t care how. I just want to be with you…forever.” Naruto looked at the ground. “Hinata, we can’t. Your father would never allow it. There won’t ever be a place for the two of us in this village. You-” Naruto was cut short when Hinata quickly pushed her lips against his. She pulled him close and whispered quietly in his ear. “Naruto, there are other villages.” Naruto’s eyes widened at what Hinata said. “But Hinata-” Naruto was cut off when Hinata pushed her finger against his mouth. “Go get your things and meet me on top of Konoha’s gates. I love you.” By the time Hinata removed her finger from Naruto’s mouth she was already gone, leaving Naruto unable to argue.
Hinata was soon rummaging through her things, throwing extra clothes and food into her ninja bag. ‘I have to hurry before father hears me.’ She zipped up her bag and slung it over her shoulder as she silently slipped out the front door. She slowly closed the door turning the knob as she closed it so it wouldn’t click shut from the latch. When she finished and turned around she was surprised to see Hiashi. “Father.” Hiashi’s face was plain and emotionless. “Are you leaving?” Hinata nodded at her father’s question. “Unless you want to stop me, but remember what I said earlier.” Hiashi walked forward slowly but Hinata put up no defense as her father neared. Hiashi stopped when he reached her and hugged her. “I could never hurt you, my little heiress.” Hinata did not return her father’s hug. “Is that all I am to you? Just an heiress for the Hyuga household?” Hiashi released Hinata. “If you don’t have anything else to say, I’m leaving…with Naruto.” Hiashi’s face remained stagnant to Hinata’s words. “Goodbye, father.” Hinata jumped off never looking back at her father who also never looked behind him to see his daughter leaving.

Naruto sat on top of Konoha’s gates looking down at Kotetsu and Izumo who were arguing about some trivial matter while on the night guard shift. He was so deep in thought he didn’t hear Hinata when she landed behind him. Hinata sat next to Naruto dangling her feet over the edge. “Having second thoughts Naruto?” Naruto shook his head. “You never gave me a chance to respond before you left. These are still my first thoughts.” Hinata rested her head on his shoulder. “Take as long as you want. I’ll wait right here.” And Hinata waited all night until the sun began to rise early the next morning eventually falling to sleep on Naruto’s warm shoulder.
“Hinata.” Naruto shook Hinata slightly trying to wake her up. Hinata fell onto Naruto’s lap before she woke up looking up into Naruto’s eyes. “Hinata, we should go before the sun rises all the way.” Hinata smiled into Naruto’s eyes before yawning cutely in his lap. “So Hinata, where exactly are we going?” Hinata smiled and sat up looking into the distance. “It’s a secret, a special place where we can be together.”
NaruHina: Secret
“Hinata, where are we going?” She gave Naruto no response. “Oh come on Hinata, I hate it when you keep secrets from me.” Hinata laughed cutely at Naruto’s childish whining. Naruto grabbed Hinata’s hand. “Fine then, I don’t care where we’re going, as long as it’s together.” Hinata blushed slightly and looked to the side slightly embarrassed even thought they were alone. “I’m glad Naruto.” Naruto waited rather expectantly, but soon realized that was all Hinata was going to say. “Man, that reverse psychology stuff always worked when I used it on Konohamaru, but you’re still not going to tell me are you?” Hinata smiled and shook her head and let go of Naruto’s hand leaping a half pace ahead of him and turned around jumping backwards so she could continue smiling at him. “Now you’re just teasing.” Hinata folded her hands behind her back and looked at Naruto, daring him to do something about it. Hinata gasped when she felt her feet knocked out from under her. She closed her eyes in preparation for the impact but she instead felt two warm arms around her.
She opened her eyes to see Naruto had caught her after he had tripped her. “Oh come on Hinata you can tell me.” He moved his face closer to hers. “You know you want to…” Hinata turned deep red from Naruto’s seductive tone. Naruto pushed his lips against hers surprising Hinata entirely. “N-Naruto-” Before Hinata could finish Naruto was hit in the face by a branch he had run into when he was looking down at Hinata.
“AWW CRAP! That was going to work too!” Naruto rubbed his face that was had an imprint of a tree branch on it from the impact. Hinata realized that he only did that to get her to tell where they were going. That was just like Naruto to use antics like that to get what he wanted. Hinata watched as Naruto sat down trying to feel his face that went numb after the impact and began laughing when he blamed the branch for growing in such a stupid place. “What’s so funny Hinata?” Naruto demanded rather forcefully due to his recent mishap. “Oh, it’s nothing. I’m just wondering if I should keep more secrets from you.” Naruto scrunched his face up. “Why would you do that Hinata?” She blushed slightly and turned away. “You kiss better when you want something.” Naruto smiled slyly. “Really?” Naruto jumped after Hinata only for her to leap off before he reached her.
Their game of cat and mouse continued through the forest until they came along a small town. Hinata stopped on a branch overlooking a simple looking town. Naruto landed next to Hinata and grabbed her shoulders turning her towards him and moving his face closer to hers. “Now you can tell me where we’re going.” Hinata laughed at Naruto. “Naruto, we’re here.” He stopped short of the kiss and looked to the small town he hadn’t noticed the second before. “O…k…Why’re we at a small town like this?” Hinata smiled shyly. “I have a friend here who can get us married.”  Naruto’s eyes widened. “Hinata, are you sure about this?” She nodded leaning into Naruto’s arms.
“So who is it?” Hinata looked up at Naruto obviously daring him to make her tell. “Fine, if you won’t tell then I…” Hinata leaned in close predicting what he was going to pull next. “…won’t kiss you.” She pulled back, surprised at Naruto’s response. “Now you’re just keeping secrets for no reason. I don’t see any reason for me to do that.” Naruto smiled, proud of himself for making a new plan to make her tell. “She’s an old friend, and I’m sure you’ll remember her.” Naruto raised an eyebrow before following Hinata into the town. “She’s here on leave to visit her relatives, but I’m sure she wouldn’t mind marrying us.” Naruto remained skeptical, especially when Hinata grabbed his hand and dragged him through the village.
“This is it.” Hinata stopped in front of a small house on the outskirts of the town. “Are you sure this is the place?” Naruto was becoming even more and more uncertain about the legitimacy of Hinata’s ability to marry people based on his surroundings. Hinata knocked once and no answer came for many seconds. “Maybe your contact skipped town, it would suit these living conditions.” Hinata became unreasonably angry at what Naruto said. “She would never do that!” Naruto flinched back in surprise at Hinata’s forcefulness. The door creaked open after Hinata yelled at Naruto. “Look at the two of you, and here I thought you would be a good couple.” Naruto found himself at a loss for words when he saw the woman in the door.
this is my new Naruhina story that was supposed to be a one shot, but me and my obsessive nature just weren't happy with that so it developed into its own little mini-series. It's not finished yet, and i'm pretty sure it's going to be longer than i wanted it to be but I may be able to limit it to three parts like this...oh well. this takes place twenty years after the Kyuubi attacked Konoha and starts on Hinata's twentieth birthday when Naruto makes the bull headed decision to propose to her, even thought their relationship so far has been kept secret.

I'm probably going to make a recurring theme out of what Hinata's father thinks of her as the story continues. right now he can only see the hyuga heiress, but Hinata hopes her father will eventually be able to look beyond that.

I consider this the Kakashi gaiden of my fanfiction 'The Needle of Konoha' that i wrote because it was necessary for the plot........Okay that's a lie i just ran out of ideas!!! who should kill Itachi? How? And now i'm wondering about his last words!!! AAAAUUUUURRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

i did this to try and calm me down....NOT WORKING!!!!
